Welcome

In certain martial arts, you are taught to use your own skills , as well as the strength and abilities of your partner or opponent, to your advantage.

That attentiveness, mental flexibility, and analytical discipline now guide my work, whether in UX/UI design, sworn translation, or records and

information management.

Understanding a need, clarifying an intention, structuring

information: whether it concerns an interface, an official

document, or an archival collection, the methodology remains

the same.

Observe. Analyse. Organise. Deliver.

When facing a challenge, I prioritise attentive listening, rigour, and the pursuit of sustainable solutions.

There are no dead ends, only solutions.

My Story

My name is Feyzi Oçan.
My professional path has been shaped by a consistent focus:

Understanding systems · Structuring information · Making it accessible.

I hold a double bachelor’s degree in History and Geography and a Master’s degree in Medieval Mediterranean History (Byzantium, Islam, Western Europe) from Université Paris IV–Sorbonne, as well as a professional qualification in Library and Information Science from the École de bibliothécaires-documentalistes (Institut Catholique de Paris). I have worked in both French and Turkish institutions, including Collège de France, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, and Lycée Français Sainte Pulchérie in Istanbul. These experiences enabled me to develop solid expertise in records management, information organisation, and knowledge transmission.

In parallel, I am a sworn French–Turkish translator officially registered with the 7th Notary Office of Beyoğlu (Istanbul). I translate legal, administrative, and official documents with accuracy and full compliance with French and Turkish legal standards. Precision, confidentiality, and professional responsibility are central to this work.

Driven by a strong interest in contemporary digital environments, I naturally moved into UX/UI design. I completed formal training including the Google UX Design Certificate and coursework in User Interface Design from the University of Minnesota. In this field, I apply the same principles that guide my other areas of expertise: needs analysis, clear structure, information hierarchy, and user-centred problem-solving.For me, design is not primarily about aesthetics, but about understanding. A successful interface steps back to serve its purpose.

Judo, writing, drawing, reading, and technology are part of my daily life. They strengthen my observational skills, discipline, and creative thinking.

Today, I bring together my expertise, rigour, and structured approach across three complementary fields:

designing clear digital experiences, delivering reliable certified translations, and organising information with method and precision.
